For nearly two decades, Kate’s Rest Foundation, located in Prince Edward County, Ontario, has provided stable housing and a path forward for individuals facing homelessness. More than just shelter, Kate’s Rest Foundation believes that everyone deserves not only a place to live but the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and community.
Recognizing that housing alone is not enough, the foundation has developed a four-year program designed to empower its residents with essential life skills:
- Health & Wellness – Access to addiction counseling, nutrition education, and self-care practices.
- Home Management – Hands-on training in property maintenance and home repairs.
- Community Living – Skills to foster collaboration and responsibility in shared spaces.
- Sustainable Agriculture – Learning to run and operate a hydroponic farm for long-term self-sufficiency.
At the end of the program, individuals graduate with a home of their own—a highly efficient, modern living space powered by VoltServer’s Digital Electricity™. This innovative technology enables homes to operate with reduced energy costs, improved efficiency, and enhanced safety, ensuring that each resident has the foundation they need to thrive.
